Antarctica OAE 4" Patch, Old Antarctic Explorer in Gray

If you've been to Antarctica then you know the meaning of being an O.A.E. This patch can make any ordinary jacket, vest, shirt or pullover into something special. I don't see why anyone other than an O.A.E. would want this patch, unless your are simply an Antarctica Patch Collector.
Antarctica (or, as us O.A.E.'s refer to it as "The Ice") is perhaps one of the hardest places to get to on the planet. Many have been to the Ice via the Military or the National Science Foundation, or through various civilian contracts with many different companies around the world that provide the support for the successful operations needed on the Coldest Place On Earth. The O.A.E. designation is only given to those that have spent more than a couple weeks on this frozen Continent.
I've spent 3 to 6 months at a time down on the Ice when I was in the U.S. Navy as a C-130 Electrician & part of the Para Rescue Team (2yrs) for Antarctica over a 4 year period. It was the most amazing experience in my life next to watching my kids being born. If you've been to Antarctica, then you know 'exactly' what I mean! :-)
If you are not already a part of the various Antarctica Facebook groups, then I would suggest that you look into them. If your are prior military that's been to the Ice, then we have a couple Facebook pages where we all commune and share our stories and pictures and reconnect with long lost friends that share our Ice experiences with those that are a part of the group.
This is a patch that you will be extremely proud of wearing and displaying.
