I'm not an expert on Chinese embroidery but definitely a fan. If we have had prior lives I definitely lived in China and had something to do with embroidery. This appears to be a panel from a Chinese skirt. It's a very lightweight faded pink silk fabric. On the front the roses or Peonies have faded to a light pink but on the backside you can see how bright the embroidery was originally. The embroidery on this is finely stitched and very well done. Features tons of flowers and 4 beautiful butterflies. Entire piece is 9 by 17 inches. Last photo shows the back.
