GODS AND GENERALS CONFEDERATE GENERAL FROCK COAT + MORE: This made and acquired for production Civil War Confederate Officers uniform set consists of the following: General Officer frock coat made from dove gray wool blend material.
Coat is a "field" uniform without the colored collar or cuff facings. Gold Virginia state buttons are grouped in twos, per regulations for a general officer. The collar has been pressed open for comfort and style. There is no rank insignia on the collar. Four rows of gold soutache braid are present on the lower part of the balloon sleeves denoting the rank of general. The coat is fully lined in black polished cotton. There was a production name tag inside the coat which has been removed. The pants are medium blue wool blend material with a wide gold stripe down each leg. The clerical style vest is made from black wool. The dark blue wool kepi has four rows of general officers gold braid. The chin strap is affixed by Confederate officers gold buttons. These Civil War uniform items from the production of "Gods and Generals" were originally in the possession of one of the films producers and were subsequently sold to Lion Heart Film Works for use in their historical documentaries. There are no COAs available.
Also included in the auction are the following items that are not from production, but are added to complete the impression: Civil War era long sleeve blue stripe shirt with falling collar, black cotton bow tie, buff colored Generals Sash and a pair of buff colored leather Officers gauntlets. Overall this set is in very fine to excellent condition. The pants show the most wear, but no damage or abuse. The sizes are unmarked but are approximately a Mens Medium.
